There's a page for everything. Clubs that I wouldn't have even known exist are included in here. The yearbook should and has included everybody.
I've never liked having the clubs/sports teams in the index section.

I'm in orchestra and McCallum is a fine arts performing school.

Magazine Cover

Magazine Covers

Early Magazine Covers
In the mid-1700's magazine cover pages weren't really popular, but when they did come to it's time they were modeled after books. Some magazine would even have articles starting on the first page and going back. Cosmopolitan in the 1893 was one of the first magazines to start using a cover page and table of contents. At the end of the 19th century the question was should magazine cover pages be used. Yes or no?

The Poster Cover: Pictures That Need No Work
By the early 1900's, many covers looked so pretty that they looked as if they should be framed and hung on walls. Colorful illustrations and captivating photographs became increasingly popular along with the photographers Charles Dana Gibson and Maxfield Parrish. Poster covers really show the artist side of magazine designers and less of the design principle of focus.

Pictures Married to Type
The 1900s is when magazine covers started getting more complicated. Text would be added to the front cover. The text would advertise the stories inside the magazine to intrigue the audience. With this new style came a few complications. Placement of pictures became critical because depth was needed to really make a good cover page. The 1900s was very much an experiment time. Most magazine would print out different layouts to see which cover page seemed to grab the audience more and make them want to buy that magazine.

In the Forest of Words
An overlapping effect had become very popular in the 2000s. Advertising text would cover parts of the subject in the the picture. The words would in a way frame the subject to enhance the cover page.  Good cover pages uses vivid words and interesting topics to entice the audience. Interesting people would even be asked to pose in these pictures such as actors and models to get a larger following.

Photoshop Tutorials

Choicesheets

I want/am forced to be in newspaper because I feel like it could better my writing (even though my writing is pretty amazing already.) I also feel like newspaper would keep me informed in my school with issues or achievements. I could better know the students at Akins also. I think it would be fun being an editor too because I enjoy reading over articles and editing also would I would enjoy to see the finished product.

Photoshop

I really like this pictures because it gets the concept of "building" across but it's also different. It's not just a building but books and a spring. I think this picture really express my imaginative side.
The Akins High School mascot is an eagle so I chose to take a picture of an eagle. I like this statue because it really flows and the depth of detail is amazing. I really like the color coming off of this picture and I think it shows my attention to detail.
This is a picture of two of my really good friends and I told them to smile. Even though I'm pretty sure their eyes and close and they are over exaggerating it really expresses the silliness my friends and I act when around each other. My friends are very close to me and I think this picture shows that I care about my friends and their emotions.

My Holiday

1. On Christmas Eve, my 28-year-old sister, 27-year-old and 21-year-old brother, and I all stayed up until 4:30 am playing Rock Band. We are a bunch of cool kids.

2.My 2012 resolution is to get into better shape and build up my GPA.

3. I am looking forward to having fun and hanging out with my friends.

The Best of the Best of 2011

1. Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri
Christina Perri's Jar of Hearts song relates to pretty much every single girl that was played by a boy. Perri sings "And who do you think you are, running  'round leaving scars. Collecting your jar of hearts and tearing love apart." She questions these "players" about the actions they make and the damage made victims. I viewed this song as a very girl empowering song. It's showing everyone that sure we may be sensitive when it comes to the subject of love but that doesn't mean we'll just allow men to walk all over us.

2. I saw the Help in theaters and it's one of the best movies I have ever seen. It takes place in the 1960's during the civil rights acts and African-American slaves have finally had enough and have decided to speak up. So with the help of an open minded white journalist, they in secret begin writing a book of their household secrets. They talked about raising the white children, not being able to use the indoor bathroom, having no freedom whatsoever, and the feeling of being looked down upon. With this book many slaves where able to find their voice and leave the horrible situations they were in.

3. Benjamin Breedlove was a senior from Westlake High School right here in Austin, Texas. He died on Christmas Day due to a life long battle with a serious heart disease called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Before he died, however, he made this video that talked about his battle with the disease and how he had cheated death three times already. His most recent trip to the hospital was when he passed out at school and had this vision. He was in a white room with his favorite rapper Kid Cudi and he talked about the peace he felt. He writes "I then looked in the mirror, I was proud of MYSELF, of my entire life, everything I have done. " It's amazing that this 18-year-old could share this intimate feelings with the world. At the very end of the video Ben asks, "Do you believe in Angels and God? I do." Ben's funeral was on December 29th and it was estimate about 1,500 came to show respect, another thousand fans watched live as it streamed on KXAN.

David Tutera stars in this show called My Fair Wedding on the Women's Entertainment Channel. He basically helps girls achieve their dream wedding which otherwise would never have happened. He goes to these bride's homes and listens to their idea of  their perfect wedding and then transform it into reality. The latest episode I watched featured  a couple that had both lost their jobs due to the economy and had no money for anything. David not only created a beautiful wedding but he also surprised the couple with a honeymoon. David does something few people can do, he makes people's dreams come true.

Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted to cheating on his wife with their house maid and fathering her son. The once loved Terminator and Governor of California was found in a lover's quarrel in the year of 2011. He hid from his wife and children another women and son. It's sad to say that Arnold Schwarzenegger is following the stereotype of celebrities. He has not only betrayed his family but his fans too.

The Best Pictures of 2011

I like this picture because it shows the dedication of workers to be able to rehabilitate these animals.
I like this picture because it shows the loyalty of the dog that even though his master is dead he continues to lay along side him for as long as needed it seems.
I like this picture pictures because it's a truly happily ever after moment. The princess is getting her prince and they will rule side by side and give England new hope.
