Newspaper Notes

Broad Sheet is the big rectangular format of newspapers.
Tabloid is the small square format of newspapers.
12 page broad sheet = 24 page tabloid
On a broad sheet newspaper there is an average about 3-5 stories on the front
On a tabloid there is an average about 2
News value
Teaser makes you want to turn to so said page. (They do not need pictures.)
The Eagle's Eye is the flag
Folio - School, Date, Title (Some newspaper has the price or website)
The headline of the story should be written from the first paragraph of the story
Sub-headline go underneath headline. It tells more about the headlines and the story
At least one sub-headline per page.
By-line: who wrote the story and their position.
Story underneath by-line.
Pages need pictures. There needs to be a dominant photo.
Caption below picture. The three parts include: caption head, photo by, and actual caption.
To fill up more space in a caption box you can write more background information or use a quote.
Those little graphics are info graphics that give you information of graphic form. Info graphics have additional information not available in the story.
Three pieces of the box: Table of Contents, Volume Number and Issue Number.
