#36 People (September 15, 1997)
This cover of People features a black and white photograph of Princess Diana, and the issue is a tribute to her life after she was killed in August 1997 in a car crash. Diana appeared on the cover of the magazine a record 52 times and was one of the most popular People cover subjects. In 1981, she married Prince Charles and arguably became one of the most famous women in the world. She was lauded for her high-profile involvement in AIDS issues and for an international campaign against landmines. Diana's death was greeted with extraordinary public grief, and her funeral at Westminster Abbey drew an estimated three million mourners in London, as well as worldwide television coverage.
Princess Diana to me is one of the greatest women that has lived on this Earth, however many people have a negative thought of her since she passed in that car crash. It's good to see her how she was instead of how she is now. Princess Diana was a true person that could always find the good in others even when they were judging her or her husband. She was involved in AIDS issues and international campaigns against landmines all while raising two young children and a country. This picture is able to tell the audience to grief for her for what happened to her but to praise her and her family for all they have done in the past, present, and future.

Magazine Cover Introduction
1. Have your own style of getting a point across. You can have the same subject as another magazine but you need to present it to the audience in a different fashion.
2. Protect the merchandise. Use plastic covers to keep it from getting dirty.
3. Give hints on the cover for the stories that are inside. Entice the audience.
4. Make the cover appealing so it can stand out when next to another magazines.
5. Have a familiar logo or saying on all magazines for people to recognize the brand.

Lytro Warm-Up
1. The loaded for a little while and then they focused in on the random things.
2. The Lytro camera is able to record light fields and allow everyone to use it. It has a light field sensor that captures the color, intensity, and vector direction of the rays of light.
3. The Lytro camera allows the photographer to be able to focus on whatever, change perspectives and switch between 2D and 3D without anyone really noticing.
4. I don't think it's worth the price but I'm sure many people would thing otherwise and waste their money on it.

Rule of Photography II
Self Portraits II
1. The point is to use your eyes and your imagination, whether you want to use detail and abstraction to say something about an individual or about the beauty of the human body.
2. Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.
3. You can create an especially revealing self-portrait by adding personal memorabilia surrounding your mirrored image, such as photos of yourself at various stages of your life, or anything that tells the viewer about your interests. Besides a mirror, a window can sometimes offer a reflective surface for you to capture your own image.
I chose the top picture because the combination of his face and the plates make a very comical picture. It looks as if his head is being served on a plate. I chose the bottom picture because from this point of view it look as if the sea of cranberries go on and on and the man looks tiny compared to it.
I chose the top picture the way the smoke looks is really cool. The smoke not only is able to stand on it's own but in a way it enhances the person in the picture also. I like the second picture because I've always seen these kinds of pictures and wanted to always try it myself. The picture is in a way asking a question. It's asking what's face is the subject really making?

I chose the top picture because those are string instruments and I play a string instrument so I can related to the girls also the picture looks very natural. It looks like they are just hanging out and talking nothing to posed our made up. The second picture is also super natural. It just looks like a couple walking in the tall grass together. They don't even notice the camera, just each other.
I want to shoot a group of friends just having fun. Either they can be talking our doing something I just want to be able to capture that natural feel like in the two pictures directly above this. I think it would be nice to have them outside, just sitting around talking and having a good time. I would want to be able to use the sun so I would want them to have the sun behind them and to make the shot successful I think I would have to be able to get everyone smiling and in the moment. They need pretend I'm not there and just be themselves.

Shortlist Warm-Up
I really like this picture because the sun is at the perfect spot which makes the sky look magical, all the different hues of blue and yellow compliment each other so well. I also really like how the clouds look. It's looks like they were perfectly placed the exact same distance apart from each other.
When I read the text for this picture it made me happy. The teacher is a paraplegic and he's still able to do his job and teach his students. He's able to defy odds and do what he wants.
When I got to these pictures most of them showed girls in random poses with excessive make up and that to me is just unappealing and then I came to this picture. The text was "my lovely boyfriend." It was plan and simple and so is the pictures and that was what made me gravitate towards it.
This picture is of an eighty year old grandmother and her seventeen year old son. The grandmother is suffering from chronic pulmonary disease and they both know her time is coming to an end and the affection between these two is refreshing. It's not everyday you see this kind of love especially coming from a teenage boy.
When I got to this website most of these pictures were of a people just facing the camera and a plan background but this pictures is different. The little girl is out of focus and the bubble seems to be the main subject but it still tells a much better story then people just staring at the camera and smiling.
This is one of the more tough category to pick a picture I like. Documentaries to me are more movies and not so much pictures so I was a little confused. However when this picture came up and I saw what it said I picked it. Those two simple words that when put together go so much deeper then you would expect, it's surprising and refreshing at the same time.
When I got to this category most of the pictures where close up of flowers and I would have to read every single text to actually understand what I was looking at but when I got to this one I knew. It's a tree, simple as that. This tree in a way is the perfect tree. It should be the pictures in the dictionary, right next to the definition of a tree.
I chose this picture first of all because tigers are one of my favorite animals and also because it's so natural. The tiger like any other predator needs to work for its food. In this case the tiger is jumping out of the water to be able to get his next meal.
This picture not only has a really pretty model but the 3D effect on it makes a lasting impression. It was the very first picture on the slide but I came back to it at least three more times before finally deciding on it. It's just fun/confusing to look at.
I chose this pictures because it's so detailed. You can see the snot even coming out of the bull's nose as he fights. You can see the intensity in the bull's eyes also and can almost in a way feel the anger they are feeling.
